Villajoyosa is next to Benidorm with a great beach, fishing port and yacht club. The Benidorm and theme park 'Terra Mítica' are 7 kms away and Alicante airport is only 35 kms.
Villajoyosa means Jewelled Town and Villajoyosa retains an authentic Spanish charm with lovely coloured house, a busy fishing harbour (main source of income) with an afternoon fish market selling the freshest of the daily catch and a quaint town centre with a market place and restaurants etc.

Villajoyosa stretches alongside a beautiful, palm-lined sandy beach to the little port where you can take day trip to Benidorm. In the last week of July Villajoyosa really comes to life for the Moors and Christians festival which is a re-enactment of the defeat of the Algerian Pirate Zala Arráez who came to ransack the town in 1538. Spectacular fireworks, and lots of delicious food and drink for everyone which is great example of the Spanish fiesta.
The historic old town of Vila Joiosa is being renovated inside and out costing €2.9 million and covering 17 streets in the town centre. The drainage and drinking water systems, street lighting, telephone and communications systems and street furniture will be improved for the benefit of the citizens as well as the old buildings and housing in the area to be re-painted.
